In a diplomatic exchange, Minister of Foreign Affairs in Sri Lanka Vijitha Herath reaffirmed the long-standing relationship between the two nations, highlighting future economic cooperation and mutual growth,

while expressing Sri Lanka's gratitude to India for extending tremendous support following Sri Lanka's recent financial crisis and in facilitating the country's debt restructuring efforts with the International Monetary Fund.

Resonating similar sentiments, the High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka, Santhosh Jha, expressed their respect and aptitude for working with the new government, building stronger and deeper ties between our two nations.

Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath noted that India remains one of Sri Lanka's largest trading partners, supplying essential imports that fuel crucial sectors such as agriculture, health, and infrastructure.

"The trade dynamics between India and Sri Lanka have immense potential," he highlighted. "India's contributions have been invaluable, and our close ties hold immense promise for the future prosperity of both nations."
