A former Sri Lankan cricketer was shot dead following a shooting in Ambalangoda last night (16).
Police said an unidentified man shot the victim while he was at his house with his wife and two children.
It was reported that the deceased, 41-year-old Dhammika Niroshana, was a former Sri Lankan cricketer.
He made his debut for the Sri Lanka Under 19s in 2000 and played under-19 Test and ODI cricket for 2 years.
Ambalangoda Police said the reason for the shooting and the suspect have yet to be identified.
