A concerned media minister Bandula Gunawardena has told a newspaper that he works throughout the day like a buffalo, but that no one lends him much support to do his job.
Now, he has become panicky over speculations that he is to be replaced in the portfolio with Mahindananda Aluthgamage.
After a FM radio channel gossiped about it, an angry Gunawardena telephoned its news director and took him to task, warning him of summons to the parliamentary privileges committee.
This reminds us what W.J.M. Lokubandara, a former speaker, had said – that our politicians are without wisdom when in power and are without power when they are wise.
