A monthly film screening at all government offices simultaneously to promote communal and cultural reconciliation begins on June 15, said the Justice Ministry.
It will happen at every provincial, district and divisional secretariat on the third Thursday of the month, starting at 9.30 am, and followed by a panel dialogue on each film via Zoom.
The effort will begin with ‘Invictus’ that tells how Nelson Mandela joined forces with the captain of South Africa’s rugby team to help unite their country through sport and overcome economic and racial division in the wake of apartheid.
The ministry’s media consultant Harsha B. Abeykoon will deliver a critique on the film.
