SJB MP Rohini Wijeratne refused to go on stage in Dambulla in support of Sajith Premadasa in protest against the presence of former state minister Lakshman Wasantha Perera.
Perera displayed pictures of him and Premadasa at the venue and also distributed caps with his name.
As he was seen on stage, Wijeratne stayed away with her supporters.
Perera left before Premadasa arrived for the rally, and it was only then that she went to the stage and sat along with Premadasa in the front row.
In a speech, she urged her leader not to spoil his vow of not allowing ethanol racketeers to his stage.
As she was leaving, Wijeratne said that she stayed away from the inappropriate persons as per Buddha’s preachings.
