Political appointees who still remain as chairmen and directors at state corporations and other statutory boards have been told to quit their positions.
Several have already left their positions and new appointments made, while others remain, reports lankadeepa.lk.
Meanwhile, secretary to the prime minister Pradeep Saputhanthri has instructed the secretaries of certain state entities to suspend meetings of their director boards.
These institutions come under the ministries of justice, public administration, home affairs, provincial councils, local government, labour, women, children and youth affairs and sports, trade, commerce, food security and cooperative development, entrepreneurship development and health.
