The Bribery Commission has decided to suspend the properties, bank accounts, insurance cover and other assets of seven politicians and state and military officials, reports lankatruth.com.
They are presently under investigation over their having amassed wealth beyond the means of their declared income.
It has been found that their claims of having earned them through their families and closest relatives are false.
Many of the suspect politicians are unwilling to give statements to the commission.
Two ministers of the former government are to be prosecuted after they failed to explain how they earned their assets.
