Sabaragamuwa Provincial Governor Champa Janaki Rajaratne said that the “Sabaragamuwa Provincial (SP) Development Construction and Machinery Authority” (DeCMA) located in Ratnapura will be converted to make it profitable and maintain it, for social wellbeing.
The Governor said this while participating in an observation tour in the DeCMA, which operates as a public enterprise.
It will take necessary steps to run the institution profitably and for social good after looking into the existing human and physical resources and investigating present issues.
Founded in 2009, this DeCMA currently has a Kegalle sub-office and a workplace in addition to the Ratnapura main office.
This authority provides services such as vehicle repair, vehicle and machinery rental, vehicle machinery servicing, printing works, road and building construction, stationery sales, vehicle fitness certificate issuance, vehicle scanning service, battery supply and tyre supply etc.
It is significant that job seekers in the local and foreign job markets are given vocational training.
Training is provided in the fields of vehicle and machinery repair, vehicle and machinery servicing, heavy vehicle operation training, printing technology and related activities, light vehicle training, civil construction related training, driver training and a few more.
Sabaragamuwa Provincial Chief Secretary Mahinda S. Weerasuriya, Chief Ministry Secretary Sujeewa Bodhimanna and others attended this event.
