The Association of Medical Specialists (AMS) has urged both the current President and the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka to step down immediately following a due process and to appoint a new interim administration to manage the current economic crisis.
The decision was taken when the medical body unanimously passed a resolution on the current economic crisis and social unrest at its Annual General Meeting held on April 24, AMS President Dr LakKumar Fernando in a statement.
He added that the resolution was based on many representations made by AMS members on the immense hardships the citizens of Sri Lanka are facing currently.
