The state-owned Lanka CWE incurred a loss of around Rs. 6,000 million to the treasury from the sale of imported dhal and canned fish during the Gotabaya Rajapaksa regime, lankadeepa.lk reports.
Quoting government sources, it says both items had been bought from importers at higher prices of Rs. 154 and Rs. 210 respectively.
Dhal was sold to consumers at reduced rates of Rs. 65 per kilo and canned fish at Rs. 110.
