Opposition leader Sajith Premadasa questions president Ranil Wickremesinghe’s proposal in the budget speech to base the country’s future on exports, green economy and digital revolution.
Since these fields have already been burdened with exorbitant taxes, targets in budget 2023 as a whole are unviable propositions only, said Premadasa.
Another matter in the budget that has caught the attention of many is the proposed appointment of an expert committee to look into the export feasibility of cannabis plants.
