SLPP national organiser Basil Rajapaksa was warmly welcomed back to Sri Lanka upon his arrival at the Katunayake airport this morning (20).
He arrived at 8.30 am on board the Emirates Airline flight EK-650 from Dubai.
About a month ago, he accompanied his family to the US on holiday.
Receiving him at the VIP lounge on arrival were Rohitha Abeygunawardena, Johnston Fernando, Gamini Lokuge, Pavitra Wanniarachchi, Shantha Bandara, S.M. Chandrasena, Prasanna Ranaweera, Sanath Nishantha and several others.
Nishantha told the media that Basil Rajapaksa was in Sri Lanka to promote and make future planning for the SLPP.
“His arrival is a strength for the party. MPs need the Rajapaksas to go to the villages and seek votes,” he said.
