Any disruption to the government’s economic revival efforts will unavoidably take the country to a crisis similar to the one that prevailed mid-last year, said president Ranil Wickremesinghe.
Economic and agricultural programmes and debt-restructuring under the IMF should continue unimpeded, he told a function in Anuradhapura yesterday (28).
The president said he expected to build a debt-free economy to ensure a dignified life for all and hoped the economy to turn positive from next year.
The main reason for the economic crisis was the certain tax relief given in 2020, he added.
