The country’s opposition is just like a group of gossiping women at the public well, said SLPP MP Nimal Lanza in parliament today (10).
Without uttering a word about reviving the country, the opposition is carrying boastful remarks in its tours of the country, he said.
Lansa was speaking during the adjournment debate on the policy statement presented to the House by president Ranil Wickremesinghe two days earlier.
He challenged the opposition to present a correct policy programme if it finds the president’s one to be wrong.
It seems the opposition has decided to make a mere criticism of the government without speaking about solutions to the economic crisis, 13th amendment to the constitution and the foreign policy, the SLPP MP added.
