Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) says it has earned a highest ever annual net profit of Rs. 6.3 billion in 2022.
In a media release, SLC says this marks a three-fold year-on-year increase compared to the Rs. 2.1 billion net profit earned in the previous year.
It said Rs. 4.2 billion was invested on playing international cricket and another Rs. 2.27 billion on domestic cricket during the year.
For the development of the game, Rs. 599 million was granted.
Additionally, Rs. 1.2 billion was invested in fulfilling SLC’s corporate social responsibility, including Rs. 278 million to the National Sports Fund and Rs. 900 million for the health sector.
10-member committee to draft new SLC constitution
Meanwhile, a 10-member committee has been appointed to formulate a new constitution for SLC, said the Sports Ministry.
Headed by justice K.T. Chitrasiri, the committee has been tasked with making a draft after studying the constitutions of other cricket governing bodies and in accordance with advice given by the ICC.
