The Supreme Court yesterday (13) received four petitions that challenge the Sri Lanka Central Bank (Amendment) Act.
Four petitioners – Jehan Hameed, Lt. Col. Anil Amarasekara, MP Udaya Gammanpila and A.D.B. Abeysekara Gunaratne - seek an order declaring the draft act to be against clauses one to four of the constitution.
The respondent cited is the attorney general.
The petitioners also seek an order for a two-thirds parliamentary majority and referendum for the passage of the draft bill.
