In a show of support for today’s (15) island-wide strike, air traffic controllers will be on a two-hour work-to-rule campaign from noon, said president of their association Thisara Amarananda.
This will cause a delay in both incoming and outgoing flight, he said, adding however that emergency, medical aid and rescue services will remain unaffected.
Amarananda said their own demands include a government response for their proposals to prevent brain-drain among air traffic controllers and financial insecurity of the Airport and Aviation Services Ltd.
