Former DIG in charge of the TID Nalaka Silva has been reinstated around five years after his suspension on a charge of conspiring attempts on the lives of ex-presidents Mairthripala Sirisena and Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
The IGP has ordered his reinstatement effective from March 28.
However, Silva received a letter transferring him as DIG of Puttalam, before the letter of reinstatement came.
Based on a complaint by one Namal Kumara, the senior policeman was arrested and remanded, but investigations failed to prove the allegations against him.
