Anuruddha Bandara and Dhanish Ali were among several social activists who were arrested during a protest at Jubilee Post Junction, Mirihana in Nugegoda yesterday (31).
However, police denied having made any arrests during the protest, which was attended by around 100 people.
It marked one year since the protest against the then president Gotabaya Rajapaksa in front of his private home.
A tense situation ensued as the police drove the protestors away up to the flyover at Nugegoda Junction, where they gathered for a further agitation.
