The SLMCS said that their invaluable and dedicated service to the nation of Sri Lanka and her people while putting their own lives; as well as their families, at risk, should be lauded and appreciated.
4500 sets of pyjamas
Meanwhile, the Nations Trust Bank (NTB) and the Sri Lanka Navy joined together to provide doctors, nurses and health services staff working on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic with 4500 pyjama sets worth over LKR 5 million. The much needed pyjama sets were handed over to the Health Ministry today (11).
The donated sets of pyjamas were presented to the Director General of Health Services Dr. Anil Jasinghe by Navy Commander Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva and Nation Trust Bank CEO Priyantha Thalwatte at the Ministry of Health. The project was funded by the Nations Trust Bank while the Sri Lanka Navy provided the labour requirements.
CSCEC donates 4000 masks
The China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) has donated 4000 face masks to the Ministry of Health to be provided to health sector staff including doctors, nurses and medical personnel who are engaged in treating people who have contracted new coronavirus. The donation was made at the Ministry of Health yesterday (10).
Furthermore, Amba Sevana Holdings came forward to donate 50 sets of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
U.H Hewawasam of Amba Sevana Holdings handed over the PPE sets to Minister of Health and Indigenous Medicine Pavithra Wanniarachchi at the Ministry of Health yesterday.
Additional Secretary Dr. Sunil de Alwis, Chairman of the Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council and Private Secretary to the Minister of Health Kanchana Jayarathna were also present at the occasion.
