The Centre for Policy Alternatives (CPA) wants the microfinance and credit regulatory bill to be reintroduced with amendments.
In a letter to the president, speaker and the two finance state ministers, the CPA says the proposed act clearly safeguards the microfinanciers and not the nearly three million citizens in their debt.
Describing the relevant bill as a timely need, the letter calls for the retaining of its positive aspects and amending it in a way to protect the interests of the aggrieved parties.
