The leader of the Mawbima Janatha Party (MJP) Dilith Jayaweera has promised to give prominence to women, empowering them with capital, not relief.
He was speaking yesterday (09) at MJP’s ‘Liya Bala’ women’s conference at Viharamaha Devi open air theatre in Colombo.
Jayaweera said their belief was that women deserved a better country, and a specific programme would be introduced soon to realize that.
The aim is to bring out their capabilities and uplift their business acumen, he said.
The MJP leader urged women to use their vote wisely in consideration of their obligations to the unborn generations.
Party chairman Dr. Sarath Amunugama, senior leader Hemakumara Nanayakkara and other activists were present on the occasion.
