Justice minister Wijeyadasa Rajapaksa is said to be favourably considering a request by the SLFP to run for the presidency under an alliance to be formed by that party.
The invitation was extended to him when he attended, as a special invitee, a meeting at the SLFP’s headquarters yesterday (30).
Addressing the gathering, Rajapakshe said any presidential candidate will be able to poll 30 per cent of the votes only.
He found the SLFP to be the strongest political camp capable of bringing the balance 70 per cent together.
