“Sri Lanka-Cheena Mithudama”, a book written in Sinhala on the friendship between Sri Lanka and China, has been launched.
Organized by its publisher, the Sri Lanka-China Friendship Association, it took place at the auditorium of National Library Services Board in Colombo.
Former speaker Karu Jayasuriya and Chinese ambassador Qi Zhenhong graced the occasion.
President of the association Ananda Gunatilake chaired the event.
Every participant received a copy of the book.
The Association was launched on 21 September 1950, with Kusuma Gunawardena, the mother of present prime minister Dinesh Gunawardena, as the first chairperson.
