State revenue is inadequate to meet the huge funds needed for primary, secondary and tertiary education, said opposition leader Sajith Premadasa.
Education should be developed with new methodology without depending on state funds only, he stressed.
He told the House during a debate on education that his ‘Sakwala’ and ‘Husma’ were two such novel programmes.
He promised to strengthen free education under a SJB government with the involvement of private donors.
He also called for an end to the discrepancy in human and physical resources in the education sector.
