Teacher trade unionist Joseph Stalin has strongly objected to a government decision to grant salary increments and a commendation certificate to state sector employees who didn’t strike.
The cabinet has approved a proposal in this regard submitted by the president.
More than 200 trade unions carried out a work stoppage on 08 and 09 July.
In a statement, Stalin said the government has not learnt a lesson from past experiences where a cabinet decision to grant a pay hike for nurses in 1986 in a similar manner were annulled by courts.
He warned the president that he would file a petition against the latest decision in the Supreme Court.
