As the then prime minister, Ranil Wickremesinghe allowed racism to grow during the good governance regime, charged the leader of the National People's Power (NPP) Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
He noted that both Wickremesinghe and Sajith Premadasa failed to take any action against racist ideals and endangered national security at that time.
Speaking at a NPP rally in Beruwala, he questioned what action had been taken when anti-Muslim sentiments grew during the good governance regime.
Dissanayake alleged the Easter Sunday attacks were allowed to happen despite being prewarned, resulting in communal clashes.
