Opposition leader Sajith Premadasa has dared the president, the prime minister and the cabinet to declare outside parliament that they do not accept the supreme court decision that prevents Deshabandu Tennakoon from functioning as the police chief.
If they do so, they will be in contempt of court, Premadasa said at a SJB event in Kahawatte.
He accused the government of hiding behind parliamentary privileges and refusing to accept court decisions.
After the upcoming election, all those who violated court rulings will have to answer for their wrongs, he warned.
