Opposition leader Sajith Premadasa has promised to grant compensation by a Samagi Jana Balawegaya regime for the Muslims aggrieved by the forced cremation of the covid-19 dead.
He was speaking after handing over smart classroom equipment and dictionaries for Arfat Muslim College at Egodauyana, Moratuwa.
Premadasa said the state policy during the pandemic had been to sideline and repress a particular community and religion.
"Now, an apology is being tendered for that wrong," he noted.
