Estate people will continue to receive freehold deeds under president Ranil Wickremesinghe, said finance state minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya.
The aim is to truly integrate them to society, he said at a discussion at the Kegalle district secretariat yesterday (31).
Estate workers with a 200-year history are the worst affected by landlessness, he said.
The state minister also said that villages with all facilities will be built for them as well on a concept by the president.
Plantation companies will allot the land and the houses will be built with state patronage, he said.
