The Jaffna Press Club has demanded justice for all slain journalists in the northern and eastern provinces.
President of the Club K. Selvakumar charged the government was evading the responsibility to investigate their deaths.
Selvakumar was speaking at the 17th year remembrance of journalist Sahadevan Nilakshan yesterday (01).
The 22-year-old Nilakshan was gunned down in front of his home at Kokuvil West on 01 August 2007.
According to Journalists for Democracy, a majority of the 44 journalists killed in the past decade were from the north and the east.
