Announcing Dhammika Perera’s presidential candidacy from the SLPP is due to take place tomorrow (07) at 7.30 am.
Party leader Mahinda Rajapaksa will make the announcement at the party head office at Nelum Mawatha Battaramulla.
The original venue was the Nelum Pokuna theatre premises, but it had been changed.
Several television channels and social media are to telecast it live.
The deposit for Perera is to be placed thereafter.
After the SLPP politburo decided to field a party candidate, several of its MPs extended support to incumbent Ranil Wickremesinghe.
They have since been removed as electoral organizers of the party.
National organizer Namal Rajapaksa said at a party event in Horana yesterday that he would be committed for the party.
