Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) MP Kokila Gunawardena tendered an unconditional apology to former minister Ravi Karunanayake over a reference she had made to him during a political talk show on Derana TV in September 2021.
The accused admitted the allegation she had levelled against Karunanayake to be false, when the matter came up before Colombo additional district court judge Chandima Edirimanne yesterday (06).
The case that sought a Rs. two billion in damages was settled accordingly.
In addition to the apology she tendered, MP Gunawardena said she would donate Rs. 10,000 to the national cancer fund, reported lankadeepa.lk.
