Giving life blood and easing their suffering is not a violation of human rights, President Ranil Wickremesinghe said yesterday (24).
President Wickremesinghe said this in relation to the verdict by the Supreme Court that he has violated human rights by postponing the Local Government elections.
He came out with this remark during a rally in Batticaloa.
"The country would have gone into a worst economic crisis if I had held the Local Government elections," he added.
