Sri Lanka won the first T20I against New Zealand that was decided in super over at Eden Park in Auckland today (02).
Kusal Janith Perera returned from injury with a half-century as Sri Lanka posted 196 for five batting first.
Perera scored 53 not out off 45 balls while Charith Asalanka top-scored with 67 off 41.
Chasing 197, New Zealand leveled the scores in the last ball.
Sri Lanka ended winners in the one-over eliminator.
The second T20I will be played in Dunedin on Wednesday (05), followed by the third T20I in Queenstown on Saturday (March 08).
