Sri Lankan sprinter Aruna Darshana recorded his personal best in the men’s 400 metres at the 10th Kinami Michitaka Memorial Athletic Meet in Osaka, Japan.
Darshana clocked 45.49 seconds to be placed second behind Japan’s Yuki Joseph who had a timing of 45.39 secs.
The 24-year-old’s previous best was 45.78 secs.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka’s Janani Dhananjana won first place in women’s 100 m in the T-46 category at the Indian open para-athletics championship.
She clocked 13.71 secs.
Compatriot Kumudika Dayani was placed second in women’s 100 in the T 35/42/47/62 category, with a timing of 13.55 secs.
