Sudath Chandrasekera yesterday (08) resigned from his position as senior advisor to the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs.
Accordingly, Chandrasekera will no longer be a member of the National Sports Council (NSC) as well.
In his resignation letter to the sports minister, he has attributed his decision to the absence of an environment to function in his position with a proper mentality.
Chandrasekara also said he informed the president about his resignation.
Earlier, the sports minister had ignored a request by Chandrasekara to remove Arjuna Ranatunga as chairman of the NSC.
