Jaswar Umar was re-elected president of Football Sri Lanka at its election of office-bearers today (29).
At the vote, Umar received 45 votes, as against 20 votes for his rival Dacshitha Sumathipala.
A total of 65 football leagues voted at the election at Sri Lanka Foundation in Colombo that began at 3.00 pm.
An election committee headed by retired judge Dr. U.L. Majeed supervised the election, with four FIFA and AFC representatives present as observers.
Office-bearers were elected for a four year term.
Warning in writing before election
Yesterday, FIFA informed the election committee in writing that failure to follow its guidelines would result in Sri Lanka facing an international ban.
Responding to a letter sent by Majeed, FIFA said the election should take place without any third party influence.
