Chief selector of Sri Lanka Cricket Pramodya Wickramasinghe has been asked to appear before the police unit for the prevention of sports-related offences on 21 November.
A top official of the unit said a statement will be obtained from him with regard to his claim of a conspiracy behind Sri Lanka’s sorry performance at the World Cup.
It follows a request made by sports minister Roshan Ranasinghe to the police unit.
Kanchana’s call
Meanwhile, minister Kanchana Wijesekara said the president has asked a cabinet subcommittee to speak to the ICC to get the suspension lifted.
He asked that politics be not involved in this matter, urging the opposition to join hands with the government in that regard.
