The game of football is on the correct track in Sri Lanka, claims Jawar Umar.
The football association president scotched rumours about the delayed commencement of the domestic season due to a delay in getting FIFA funding.
Umar was speaking to the media at Football House in Colombo about Colombo City Challenge Cup that kicks off the season from 20 July.
A FIFA audit into Sri Lanka Football is nearing its completion and funding will resume next year, he said.
Presently, a limited sum is received in monthly instalments which is being spent on the national team, said Umar.
The first aim is to win the 2025 SAF tournament, he added.
